Black recessed spotlights make a statement on the ceiling: they draw the eye, give a room character and suit a modern, industrial or Scandinavian interior perfectly. This set consists of 10 complete round recessed spotlights in black, each with a tiltable recessed fitting, a 5W GU10 LED spot in daylight white (6000K) and a GU10 lamp holder with connecting wire.

10 spots: how much space do you light?

Ten spots is a handy number for a single room: think of a kitchen, bathroom, hallway or landing, or a row of spots above a cooking island or worktop. As a rule of thumb, keep 1 to 1.2 metres between the spots and about 50 to 60 cm from the wall; with ten spots that gets you roughly to a room of 10 to 15 m². Together the 10 spots deliver 4,650 lumens at a total consumption of just 50W. With 35W halogen spots that would be 350W.

Light colour: daylight white 6000K

The 6000K light is daylight white: fresh and bright, with a cool look. This is the light colour for spaces where you want to see as much as possible, such as a workshop, garage, storage room, practice room or shop. Each spot gives you 465 lumens with a beam angle of 38° and a colour rendering (CRI) of more than 80.

Look and finish

The round shape is classic and fits almost any interior. The black finish stands out nicely against a white or light ceiling and blends in on a dark or wooden ceiling. The recessed fitting measures Ø88 × 25 mm, is made of coated steel and is tiltable, so you can aim the light at, for example, a painting, a wall or a worktop.

Not dimmable

The spots in this set have a white plastic housing and are not dimmable: you connect them to an ordinary switch. If you have a dimmer or want to be able to control the light, choose the dimmable version of this set.

Installation

Saw or drill a hole of 70 to 75 mm for each spot. Switch off the power, connect the lamp holder to the 230V wiring, fit the lamp holder onto the GU10 spot and slide the spot into the recessed fitting. The spring clips then hold the fitting firmly in the ceiling. Suitable for plasterboard and suspended ceilings, among others; make sure there is enough room above the ceiling for the spot and the lamp holder. If you are unsure about the wiring, have it done by an electrician.
