White round recessed spotlights are the timeless choice: in a white ceiling they hardly stand out, so what you notice is the light, not the fitting. This set consists of 10 complete round recessed spotlights in white, each with a tiltable recessed fitting, a dimmable 5W GU10 LED spot in cool white (4000K) and a GU10 lamp holder with connecting wire.

10 spots: how much space do you light?

With ten spots you can usually light one complete room, such as a kitchen, bathroom, hallway or bedroom, or create a line of light along a wall or above a worktop. As a rule of thumb, keep 1 to 1.2 metres between the spots and about 50 to 60 cm from the wall; with ten spots that gets you roughly to a room of 10 to 15 m². Together the 10 spots deliver 4,000 lumens at a total consumption of just 50W. With 35W halogen spots that would be 350W.

Light colour: cool white 4000K

The 4000K light is cool white: bright and neutral, without a yellow or blue tint. You see colours and details clearly, which makes this light colour ideal for the kitchen, bathroom, utility room, home office and workspaces where you want to be able to focus. Each spot gives you 400 lumens with a beam angle of 35° and a colour rendering (CRI) of more than 80.

Look and finish

The round shape is classic and fits almost any interior. The white finish lets the spot disappear into a white ceiling, which gives a calm and spacious effect. The recessed fitting measures Ø88 × 25 mm, is made of coated steel and is tiltable, so you can aim the light at, for example, a painting, a wall or a worktop.

Dimmable

The spots in this set have an aluminium housing and are dimmable with a triac dimmer (leading-edge or trailing-edge). Choose an LED-compatible dimmer with a low minimum load; then you can adjust the light smoothly and without flickering, from bright task lighting to mood lighting.

Installation

Make a hole of 70 to 75 mm in the ceiling. With the power switched off, connect the lamp holder to the 230V wiring, click the lamp holder onto the GU10 spot, place the spot in the recessed fitting and press the whole assembly into the ceiling with the spring clips. Suitable for plasterboard and suspended ceilings, among others; make sure there is enough room above the ceiling for the spot and the lamp holder. If you are unsure about the wiring, have it done by an electrician.
