The Spartan 3 features a dual-power specification. This specification was added to comply with ECE-R112 certification. When the headlight is connected at 100%, the light output is too high to remain within the R112 certification limits. When the headlight is switched on at reduced power, it does comply with the standard. Officially, you are not permitted to use full power on public roads, only off-road. The reduced power setting is, however, approved for public roads.
