Description
Description
This COB LED strip warm white 2700K gives one completely even line of light, without the separate dots you know from a regular LED strip. That is thanks to COBⓘ technology with no fewer than 320 LEDs per metre. You get a 5 metre roll with 800 lumens per metre at 8W/m: 4,000 lumens at 40W in total. With a CRIⓘ above 90, wood, fabrics and skin tones look natural and warm.
Warm white 2700K: the light of an incandescent bulb
2700K is the colour temperature of the classic incandescent bulb: warm, calm and cosy. That makes this strip the obvious choice for places where you want to relax, such as the living room, bedroom or a reading corner. It is also popular as indirect lighting along the ceiling (a cove), behind the TV, under kitchen cabinets, in a bookcase or niche, along the stairs and behind a mirror. Because COB shows no visible dots, you can also use the strip where the light reflects directly on a glossy worktop or glass shelf. You then see a clean line instead of a row of dots.
Why COB instead of a regular LED strip?
On a regular SMD LED strip the LEDs are spaced apart, so without a cover you see separate light points and shadows. On this COB strip the chips sit so close together, under a yellow phosphor layer, that the light leaves the strip as one continuous line. A diffuser cover or aluminium profile is therefore not needed for a nice result. If you still want to hide the strip neatly or cool it better, its 8 mm width and 2.3 mm thickness fit narrow aluminium profiles. The beam angle is a wide 170°, so the light spreads broadly and softly.
Connecting: which power supply do you need?
The strip runs on 24V DC and is supplied without power supply, dimmer or controller. At the start of the roll there are two connection wires of about 15 cm (red is plus, black is minus), which you connect directly to a 24V LED power supply. Count on 8W per metre of strip and choose a power supply with at least 20% more power than your strip, so it does not run at its limit and lasts a long time. A full 5 metre roll uses 40W, so it goes with a 24V power supply of 48W. Our own 24V LED power supply of 48W with plug therefore matches exactly one roll: plug it in, connect the wires and you are done. The maximum run length is 5 metres. If you use multiple rolls, connect each one separately (in parallel) to a power supply that is large enough, not in series, otherwise the end of the strip becomes visibly darker.
Dimmable
The strip is dimmable with a suitable 24V LED dimmer placed between the power supply and the strip. This lets you match the brightness to the moment: bright while cooking or tidying up, dimmed for a cosy evening. The dimmer is not included; make sure it is suitable for 24V constant voltage and can handle at least the power of your strip.
Cutting and mounting
You can cut the strip to size at the marked cut lines, every 50 mm (5 cm). Only cut on those lines, otherwise the last section will no longer work. The back has strong 3M tape. Clean the surface beforehand so it is dry and grease-free, and press the strip firmly for the best adhesion. The strip is flexible and can follow curves, but do not kink it and do not bend it at the cut lines.
Indoor use only
With protection rating IP20ⓘ the strip is not protected against moisture. Use it only in dry indoor spaces such as the living room, bedroom, kitchen (not directly above the sink), hallway, office or shop fittings. It is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoors.
What is in the box?
You receive 1 roll of 5 metre COB LED strip with connection wires and 3M tape on the back. A 24V power supply, dimmer, connectors and aluminium profile are not included.
In short
24V DC, 8W per metre (40W per roll) and 800 lumens per metre (4,000 lumens per roll), in warm white 2700K with a CRI above 90. The strip has 320 COB LEDs per metre and a beam angle of 170°. The roll is 5 metres long, 8 mm wide and 2.3 mm thick, cuttable every 50 mm, IP20 for indoor use, dimmable with a suitable 24V LED dimmer, and comes with a 2 year warranty.
